The Parisianer

What would it look like if Paris graced the cover of a weekly magazine, interpreted and exalted by different local artists? What stories would unfurl beneath it? These are the abiding questions that The Parisianer, an imaginary Paris-themed magazine, seeks to answer.

Spearheaded by the professional organization La Lettre P, the project culls the talents of 100 illustrators, artists and young designers, giving them a blank canvas to express their creative vision of the capital. With support from the Mairie de Paris, the collection of magazine covers will be displayed in a temporary exhibit at the Cité Internationale des Arts (December 20-23) during which visitors can meet the artists and participate in creative workshops. The team will also mark the occasion with a compilation book of all 100 designs, offered exclusively during the exhibit before wide release in March.

To ensure they can print 1,500 copies of the book in time for the exhibit in December, the La Lettre P crew have launched a crowd-funding campaign to raise 7,500€. Out of deference to creative projects like this, especially those which shine fresh light on the city, I’ve made a contribution – I certainly want a copy of this book!
